The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Outreach and Support Officer to oversee the welfare and safeguarding of displaced children attending BRIT Kids. You will play a crucial role in building relationships with families, ensuring children feel safe and supported, and working closely with teaching staff to implement trauma-informed practices.


BRIT Kids, with funding from Croydon Council, is enrolling 21-25 displaced children into its Saturday programme.  The Outreach and Support Officer will be responsible for the welfare and safeguarding of these children while they are at BRIT Kids. This role involves working closely with parents, children, and teachers to ensure that children can access classes, feel comfortable, and integrate into the BRIT Kids and local community.


The ideal candidate will have experience working with displaced children and families, a strong understanding of safeguarding practices, and the ability to provide trauma-informed support. You should be empathetic, proactive, and able to build trusting relationships with children, parents, and staff.

Qualifications
Relevant qualification in social work, youth work, education, community outreach, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Safeguarding and child protection training or willingness to undertake training.

Experience/Knowledge
Experience working with displaced children, vulnerable groups, or families in need of support.

Previous experience in outreach work, community engagement, or social support.
